**Victorian Burl Amboyna and Ebonized Parlor Cabinet:
Generally in excellent condition, with tight construction and a finish which is probably original and also in excellent condition. As evidenced in the catalogue/online photograph, there is some significant loss to the silvering of the mirror backs. The upper left mirror surround is cracked in two places and missing the tip of a volute. The shelves below that are missing some veneer trim at the junction of the shelf with the mirror frame. There are a few odd losses to the beading, and some beading is replaced at the lower edges surrounding the porcelain plaques. The original beading is brass--the replacement appears to be carefully carved wood. The plaques on either side of the drawer are perplexing. They consist of a beaded surround over glass covering a gold leaf decorated panel. The gold leaf is clearly old and unadorned. We are uncertain whether it is an old replacement or a period design technique. |

**Early George III Sterling Silver Coffeepot.
Overall Condition: Good.
The lid is a possible later replacement or marriage. The finial has been professionally repaired, probably having been broken off at some point. Likewise, a rough area of silver solder on the underside of the foot suggests a possible repair. Otherwise, the piece seems to be in very good condition, with no condition issues beyond the expected signs of age. The handle is tight; and the lid hinge has slight give but is entirely sound. The repousse decoration is of later date as noted. Hallmarked (on the underside) with: 1) the sterling lion passant; 2) the London leopard's head; 3) the date letter "L" for 1766-1767; and 4) the "S.W" maker's mark of Samuel Whitford. Hallmarked (on the underside) with 1) the Dublin "harp" standard mark, 2) the seated Hibernia duty mark, 3) the date letter "E" for 1777, and 4) a maker's mark "JL", script, in a serrated oval. |
 |
|

Condition: Good.
No significant dents or scratches noted; no breaks. The silver handle is a later addition, replacing what was almost certainly a wood original. Lid and hinge tight and secure. Hallmarked (on the underside) with: 1) the sterling lion passant; 2) the London leopard's head; 3) the date letter "u" for 1795-1796; 4) the George III bust duty mark; and 4) the "PS" in a conjoined circle maker's mark of Paul Storr; the lid underside part-marked. |

Glass bowls lacking as noted in the catalogue description. Considerable oxidation in the recesses which can be removed with a proper cleaning. A nice piece, needing only replacement bowls and a good cleaning. |

One fused plate liner has some large areas of bleeding through to the copper around the rim. Each cooler hallmarked (on the body, under a handle) with: 1) the sterling lion passant; 2) the London leopard's head; 3) the date letter "C" for 1838-1839; 4) the Victoria's bust duty mark; and 5) the "EE/B/JW" in a trefoil maker's mark of Edward Barnard & Sons. An exceptional pair. |
 |

Overall Condition: Fair.
Both coasters have a ring of solder around the perimeter of the base where they have been repaired, probably having been detached; one bottom is yet again partially detached, extending slightly more than halfway around. Lid does not sit perfectly flush, gaping about 1/8" at the front. One nut which holds the lock in place on the inside is lacking, as is the key. Hinge good and tight. No monograms or evidence of their removal. Hallmarked (on the underside) with 1) the sterling lion passant; 2) the London leopard's head; 3) the date letter "e" for 1860-1861; 4) the Victoria's bust duty mark; and 5) the "WS" in conjoined circles maker's mark of William Stocker.
